DBT for You How We Can Help

How Can Our Online Services Help?

Not Sure Where to Start With DBT? We Can Help

Have you or a family member recently been referred for Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and aren’t quite sure what that means? You’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself.

DBT is a structured, evidence-based mental health treatment made up of several components. Some people receive all DBT services in one program, while others use services from a few different places.

We’re here to help you understand your options and choose the ones that fit your needs.

What DBT Includes

For Clients

DBT typically includes three core services:

  • Individual Therapy Work one-on-one with a DBT-trained therapist to understand the behavioral patterns that keep you stuck. Sessions often include behavioral chain analysis (BCA) and tracking progress on a diary card.
  • Skills Education Learn the practical skills you need to reach your goals. Skills are usually taught in group classes, but some people prefer individualized sessions with a coach or therapist for more flexible scheduling or personalized learning.
  • Skills Coaching Get support applying DBT skills in your life. Coaches collaborate with your therapist or skills trainer to help you “break the chain” of behaviors that get in the way of your goals.

For Caregivers

DBT also offers two key supports for family members:

  • Skills Education Learn the same DBT skills your loved one is learning so you can support them more effectively. Classes with caregivers and teens together are available. Ask about individual skills education that we can provide.
  • Skills Coaching Receive guidance on how to apply DBT skills in challenging moments with your family member. Coaching helps you respond with greater and effectiveness.

Not Sure What You Need? Start With an Assessment

We offer a 1-hour DBT assessment to help you determine whether you or your family member needs:

  • A comprehensive DBT program
  • DBT individual therapy
  • DBT skills coaching
  • DBT skills education
  • OR a combination of these services

At DBT For You, we provide group skills classes and 1:1 skills education and coaching. If you need a full DBT program or therapist, we’ll help you identify what questions to ask and how to choose the right fit.
