School Counseling & Special Education Staff Online Training for Individuals

Our 20-hour (with CEUs) program for school staff is now available online for individual participants!
Are you interested in learning more about DBT STEPS-A, the curriculum used within Middle Schools and High Schools to teach DBT skills to students at all tiers of need?
The DBT STEPS-A skills can be used within group skills classes as well as taught individually.
Over the past five years, DBT has been adapted for use in schools. The program is called DBT STEPS-A. School counselors and teachers across the country are being trained to provide this psycho-educational skill program to their students.
Our 20-hour training is made up of 10 two-hour online trainings through Zoom and includes the following:
- Lessons to teach you the basics of DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
- Workshops on mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness
- Exercises and handouts you can use with your students
- Consultation to review how to use these skills with emotionally dysregulated students
Time: Thursdays 12:00 – 2:00 pm
Dates: February 12 – April 23 (no class on February 23).
Location: All sessions are conducted online on Zoom.
Cost: $1,000/participant.
CEUs: 20 CEUs are offered for this training.
Workshop Expectations: For all online sessions, please be prepared to be interactive! Cameras must be on to facilitate participation in exercises and group conversation.
Materials: Participants need to purchase the workbook DBT Skills in Schools by Marra. All other training materials are provided.
